Pituitary Tumors are abnormal growths that arise within the pituitary gland and may cause excessive or restricted production of hormones that regulate important functions of your body.

The majority of pituitary tumors are benign and don’t spread to surrounding tissues or other parts of the body. Pituitary Tumors less than 1 cm are referred to as Microadenomas, while those larger than 1 centimeter are referred to as Macroadenomas.

Smaller pituitary tumors may not present any symptoms, depending on their growth and the pressure they put on surrounding structures. Larger tumors may pressure portions of the pituitary gland and nearby structures, creating a range of hormone-related symptoms.
